Do you set high expectations?

here's a better way

You set high expectations but are they internal or external expectations?

Who defines what’s expected of you?

If you allow societal norms, bosses, friends, or family to influence your desires and goals, you’re setting external expectations.

In this case, you’re living your life by the rules of others.

Doesn’t fun does it?

Here’s a better way…

Choosing to set internal expectations puts you in the driver’s seat for defining the rules you choose to live by.

How to shift from external to internal expectations

  • Care less about others’ opinions and more about yours.

  • Revisit and reconsider your core values and personal philosophies.

  • Identify your expectations and ask yourself why they’re so high.

  • Shift from outcome-based expectations to process-based expectations.

Even taking just one of these four steps above is a step in the right direction.

Is that too much for me to externally expect from you? :)
